You can’t beat Tucano Urbano for stylish scooter wear, or for the urban biker who likes to stand out from the crowd. Boring old bike kit is, or at least should be a thing of the past – so get your kit cupboard up to date. The Italian manufacturer knows how to get the best blend of style, functionality and value for money from everything they make and this jacket is no exception.
I’ve been wearing this Agos jacket throughout summer, its lightweight yet windproof, 100% waterproof and breathable (thanks to the HYDROSCUD® construction and taped seams). The fabric itself has a carbon fibre effect pattern, subtle Tucano branding and also has Tucano REFLACTIVE® ‘Visibility on demand’ reflective cuffs, collar and waistband that can be folded away when off the bike, a great idea.
Although the Agos comes with pockets inside it to accept armour, the jacket isn’t sold with the armour itself but Tucano sell CE approved D30 elbow and shoulder armour to fit. It only costs an extra £20 and is well worth having, especially with the jacket being relatively cheap in the first place. D30 is much thinner and more manipulative than ordinary armour but actually dissipates more force in the event of an accident. As you’d expect, the Agos also has an array of useful pockets, it comes with their FIND IT EASY® system, so everything has a place, mobile phone pocket, documents, sunglasses etc. In total there are eight pockets to choose from.
As with all Tucano gear this jacket looks great on, or off the scooter and I’ve worn it since spring. It’s not got much in the way of abrasion resistance though so it’s more of a town jacket than one for longer journeys. I’ve not had chance to thoroughly test its waterproof claims but I’ve done a fair few miles in the rain without a leak, so far so good. It costs £111.99 so isn’t overly expensive and is available from your nearest Tucano Urbano stockist, for your nearest retailer visit: www.tucanourbano.com
